The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of international as well as inter-sector research collaboration. Building groups working inter-disciplinarily, across sectors, and countries, is an important step towards building resilient research systems that will be able to respond well to future challenges and best serve societal needs.
Seeking to build and foster such collaborations, the Technical University Berlin, the University of Oxford, and Siemens AG have just published an internal seed-funding call aiming to build tri-lateral partnerships. The intersection of methods and technologies and applications sectors are the focus of the calls, with the fields applied artificial intelligence, connectivity, IoT, sensors and edge computing, simulation and digital twin highlighted within methods and technology, and buildings, cities, and energy systems, industry and manufacturing, mobility and transport systems focused within application sectors.
The call aims to fund 4 projects for up to 9 months between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2022.
