Global collaboration and innovation are the best approaches to tackling many of the complex and global challenges we face today. Yet, many barriers hinder the effective implementation of such approaches even at early stages. It takes many steps for researchers with an idea for tackling global challenges to build the collaborations, funding, and support needed and to fully develop their work's potential for transformation and innovation. Supporting research and innovation through every step of the development process is vital to ensure that we benefit from their contributions to tackle global challenges.
This call by the UK's Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy aims to support UK / EU collaborations in preparing applications for Pillar 2 of Horizon Europe - Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness. The funding is aimed at researchers (post-doctoral level or above) preparing to submit applications for calls within Pillar 2 of Horizon Europe that open between 01 September 2021 and 07 September 2022.
Applications are invited from any disciple and can be awarded up to £5,000 each.
