When will we be able to cure Parkinson’s disease?

On the Einstein Foundation's #AskDifferent podcast, Einstein BUA/Oxford Visiting Fellow Andrew Sharott explains how understanding some of the fundamental properties of brain activity can help the discovery and treatment of Parkinson’s. Sharott is a professor at the University of Oxford’s MRC Brain Network Dynamics Unit and an internationally recognized expert on how neuronal activity changes in Parkinson’s and its treatment with neurosurgery.

The “Einstein BUA/Oxford Visiting Fellow” programme allows top Oxford researchers to bed into the Berlin research landscape over a period of three years. The Fellows work closely with their German academic counterparts, building working groups and employing post-doctoral students.
